What’s New In Microsoft Excel 2013?

In this post, we will discover the new features in Microsoft Excel 2013 ranging from the new sharing options to Office Apps. Data organization has been simplified using Flash Fill, data analysis has been equipped with Quick Analysis and charting is now much more effective owing to the new Recommended charts option.Excel 2013 comes with a fresh design and a decent yet modern splash screen that is faster in loading speed.

Instead of opening a blank spreadsheet to set the field for extensive number crunching, Excel 2013 welcomes you with a unique landing page that allows you to grasp the relevance of this application in organizing every matter of your life, ranging from financial reports to personal budgeting, movie lists, trend analysis and more. These are laid out in front of you in a tiled format. Don’t forget to click the ‘Welcome to Excel’ template, to quickly understand the basics of this version. In addition, the search bar offers a powerful synchronization with the revamped online Office templates library. You can quickly open frequently used and last used documents from the Recent sidebar.

Excel 2013 Landing page

Excel 2013, like other tools in the Office suite, uses Live ID or Microsoft SkyDrive account to store content online for better accessibility, document sharing and collaboration. Therefore, the new Account tab presents the user information coupled with connected services organized into three sections: Images & Video (Flickr, YouTube), Storage (SharePoint, SkyDrive) and Sharing. Moreover, the Product Information for the overall suite is presented on the right, with emphasis on subscription and update details. The new interface can be customized using the Office Back ground themes.

Excel 2013 Account Page

In an attempt to make documents relevant on the go, the Open window of Excel 2010 has been replaced with an entire page covering both online and offline storage places. You can either open files from your system or your personal SkyDrive. Furthermore, the Add a place option allows you to specify other SkyDrive and SharePoint location, so that documents are accessible from anywhere you like. As evident, the features of the previous Recent tab in Excel 2010 has been merged with the new Open page.

Excel 2013 Adding Places

The new Excel values the sensitivity of your data, especially due to the vulnerabilities resulting from cloud-based storage. These are overcome by user-defined settings like the Check Out function, which prevents others from viewing any changes or editing the document unless you give them the editing rights. Moreover, the sharing options further protect your data in obedience to your requirements.

Excel 2013 SkyDrive CheckIn

The power of social media has been incorporated into Excel 2013 by allowing you to post to Social Networks in a much similar way as elaborated above. You can post view links or edit links on platforms like Facebook to generate interest in your worksheets.

Excel 2013 Social Share

The most impressive addition to Microsoft Excel is the new and interactive way of dealing with charts. The importance of Excel 2013 lies in its analytical and data organization capabilities. As soon as you select a chart, the chart elements button pop-ups on the top right corner. All you need to do now, is to select the elements that can add more value to the chart such as Data Table, Error Bars, Timeline, Titles and more.

Enhanced PivotTools Excel 2013 Analyze

Instead of searching images online using search engines, Excel 2013 offers you the option to achieve this while remaining relevant to the worksheet under progress. The royalty-free photo library, Bing Image Search, SkyDrive and Flickr accounts can be used to search, preview and insert relevant images into your workspace.

What Email is and How It Works?

Email, e-mail or electronic mail is the transmission of messages (emails or email messages) over electronic networks like the internet.

process of sending e-mail

firstly typed message is sent at nearest mail server in the form of bundle. Then they are sent to target.

Do you know ? E-mail is sent fast then message. Reason is this message is sent from one server not in form of bundle but but e-mail is sent in form of bundle. One bundle can go from one server and another bundle can go from another server and finally at server they all will become a unique bundle. This will be sent to target.

but message can not be sent in form of bundle. That’s why they are sent from one server. That’s why messages are sent slower than an e-mail.

Android (operating system)

Android is a Linux-based operating system designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers.Android applications are written in the Java programming language.

Once installed on a device, each Android application lives in its own security sandbox:

  • The Android operating system is a multi-user Linux system in which each application is a different user.
  • By default, the system assigns each application a unique Linux user ID (the ID is used only by the system and is unknown to the application). The system sets permissions for all the files in an application so that only the user ID assigned to that application can access them.
  • Each process has its own virtual machine (VM), so an application’s code runs in isolation from other applications.
  • By default, every application runs in its own Linux process. Android starts the process when any of the application’s components need to be executed, then shuts down the process when it’s no longer needed or when the system must recover memory for other applications.

The user interface in Android is based on the concept of direct manipulation, using single- and multi-touch inputs like swiping, tapping, pinching and reverse pinching to manipulate on-screen objects. The response to user input is designed to be immediate and provides a fluid touch interface. Internal hardware such as accelerometers, gyroscopes and proximity sensors are used by some applications to respond to additional user actions, for example adjusting the screen from portrait to landscape depending on how the device is orientated, or allowing the user to steer a vechicle in a racing game by rotating the device, simulating control of a steering wheel.

Android consists of a kernel based on the Linux kernel 2.6 and Linux Kernel 3.x (Android 4.0 onwards), with middlewarelibraries and APIs written in Cand application software running on an application framework which includes Java-compatible libraries based on Apache Harmony. Android uses theDalvik virtual machine with just-in-time compilation to run Dalvik dex-code (Dalvik Executable), which is usually translated from Java bytecode. The main hardware platform for Android is the ARM architecture.

Ethernet Cable

This Ethernet cable can be used to connect a network interface card (NIC) to an Ethernetswitch or hub. They transmit data using the Ethernet protocol. Ethernet cables have RJ-45 jacks on both ends, each with 8 pins(They look similar to telephone jacks, which use 4 pins or 6 pins).(RJ-45 is the common name for an 8P8C modular connector using 8 conductors)

Equipment using an Ethernet cable is referred to as wired. The most popular Ethernet cable in current use, Category 5 or CAT5, supports both traditional and Fast Ethernet. The Category 5e (CAT5e) cable supports Gigabit Ethernet.( CAT5 is the fifth generation of twisted pair Ethernet technology and the most popular of all twisted pair cables in use today.CAT5 cable contains four pairs of copper wire. It supports Fast Ethernet speeds (up to 100 Mbps).)

This cable is compatible with 10Base-T, 100Base-TX, 100VG-Anylan and 1000Base-T.

Here 10Base-T means ———-here ’10’ means  transmission speed of 10 Mbps & the “BASE” refers to baseband signalling, which means that only Ethernet signals are carried on the medium. The “T” represents twisted-pair.

What is the use of graphics card in computer?

A graphics card is the component in your computer that handles generating the signals that are sent to the monitor or “graphics”. It is responsible for generating all the text and pictures that are displayed on your screen. It is called a “card” because most PCs will have a physical card that is inserted in a PCI slot on the motherboard.

2D, or two dimensional graphics are the kind of graphics displayed when you use a web browser, check email or work on a spreadsheet. For 2D graphics the major factors are resolution and refresh rate.

Resolution determines how many little dots are used to draw the image on the screen. For example, 640×480 means that the whole screen is drawn using 307,200 little dots in 640 columns and 480 rows. The more dots that are used, the finer the detail. Thus, higher resolutions provide for great detail and image quality.

Another factor is color depth. You may see it expressed as a third parameter such as 640x480x256. This means 640 columns x 480 rows x 256 colors.

Finally refresh refers to how many times a second the image on the screen is redrawn. 60Hz means that the image on the screen is drawn 60 times every second. This becomes important in fast moving video games where the action needs to look really. Also, for CRT type monitors refresh rates of 60Hz and less tend to have a noticeable flicker even on stationary images. This flicker can lead to headaches for many people. Higher refresh rates are better.

A good overall measurement of a card’s performance is its frame rate, measured in frames per second (FPS). The frame rate describes how many complete images the card can display per second. The human eye can process about 25 frames every second, but fast-action games require a frame rate of at least 60 FPS to provide smooth animation and scrolling. Components of the frame rate are:

  • Triangles or vertices per second3-D images are made of triangles, or polygons. This measurement describes how quickly the GPU can calculate the whole polygon or the vertices that define it. In general, it describes how quickly the card builds a wire frame image.
  • Pixel fill rate: This measurement describes how many pixels the GPU can process in a second, which translates to how quickly it can rasterize the image.
